The Religious Education Council of England and Wales (REC) is a national charity which campaigns and advocates for high-quality education in religion and worldviews. Our vision is for every young person in England and Wales to experience academically rigorous and personally inspiring Religious Education (RE).

A recent survey* shows that two thirds of UK adults think that RE is an important part of the school curriculum today, and that RE has an impact on people’s ability to understand each other in wider society.

After a strategic review, the REC Board of Trustees now needs an Executive Officer to report to the Chair of the Board and to lead the delivery of our new strategic plan, including:

  • Transformation of the REC’s operations and processes (including financial management)
  • A step-change in our communications and marketing
  • Effective and consistent fundraising
  • High quality project management of work, deliverables, budgets and timescales

Working from home (anywhere in England or Wales) you will be a highly organised and effective leader with a proven track record of leading small teams of staff, contractors and volunteers to deliver measurable outcomes, ideally in an education charity setting.
