Contribution to RE

The Muslim Council of Britain’s contribution to Religious Education is multifaceted. The MCB Education Committee has worked closely with various publishers to edit and supervise the publication of RE resources, including GCSE textbooks, and has produced an extensive range of teaching materials on Islam for schools across the country, through its Books for Schools initiative. The MCB also offers invaluable advice and guidance to teachers, governors, parents and pupils on matters concerning Islam and the British school system. It has also published a Guidance for Schools handbook which offer key information concerning meeting the needs of Muslim pupils in state and private schools in the UK. The Muslim Council of Britain also works in cooperation with the government on devising and revising the RE Curriculum with regards to lessons on the Islamic faith.
