Commission on RE discussed at Downing Street

The RE Council’s Chief Executive, Rudolf Eliott Lockhart, and the drafter of the Commission on Religious Education, Amira Tharani, went to 10 Downing Street on Monday 11 June to discuss the progress of the Commission on Religious Education with the Prime Minister’s Special Adviser on Faith and Communities and the Head of Education at Downing Street.  The discussion was positive and the work of the Commission so far was well received.

The Commission’s interim report, Religious Education for All, was released in September 2017.  This was followed by an extensive consultation where Commissioners took a substantial volume of submissions responding to the suggestions set out in the interim report.  The Commissioners are currently working on their final report which is due out on 12th September.
